This year, I picked 8 activities for us to do - as a family - to help us celebrate Christmas, focus on Jesus, and have fun making memories! Advent is meant to help us prepare and focus on Jesus, and I wanted to pick activities that helped us do that.
I cut out little red and green Christmas trees and wrote our activities on them with sharpie and stapled them to a piece of string that I hung on our fireplace with the other decorations. Most of our activities have dates on them because they're events we're attending, so I write the date on there so we remember. I also put it in my phone and on our calendars so we don't forget! :)
This year, here are our 8 Advent Activities:
Our town's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony
Santa picture (I've framed these pics the last 2 years and put them out each Christmas)
Make Christmas cookies
Donkey in the Living Room Nativity Set (a great way to focus on Jesus, with kids, 10 days leading up to Christmas Day)
Go on a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt (I'm sharing our list at the bottom)
Bethlehem Marketplace (local event in our town with live animals and actors)
Christmas Parade
Neighbor Gifts (each year I make goody bags for our neighbors and we drop them off)
What are some of your family's Advent Activities? Share in the comments!!
