Milestones: Starting to sit up by herself. She still needs some assistance, but she's getting so good at it! Starting solid food.
Nicknames: Sweet Girl, Little Sis, Sister, Sis, Sugar, Sugar Britches, Allie Bug, Momma's girl, Allie Girl
Sleeping: She's in bed around 7:30ish each night and sleeps until 7:30 the next morning. Sometimes she'll wake up around 6:30 and babble but she lays in her bed and talks or goes back to sleep. Occasionally she gives the "I'm hungry come get me" cry and I'll feed her before 7:30. I dropped the dreamfeed too, this month. It feels so bed going to bed at 10:00 and staying asleep! :)
Eating: We do a Babywise eat, wake, sleep schedule. We went to the 4 hour schedule this month. She eats at 7:30, 11:30, 3:30 and 7:30. She eats great and takes her time. I think Landon was more efficient than her, at this age, but she takes her time. She's also really nosey when she eats so I've got to make sure Landon stays clear of us while we eat and lets her eat in peace. (which is almost impossible)
Highlights: She got in the swing for the first time this month and loved it. She's started babbling louder these days. She loves standing in her exersaucer and playing with the toys attached. She is strong at standing (assisted). She started solid food this month. She doesn't care for rice cereal, so I serve it with her fruit or veggie. Currently, she's getting about 2 T total in the morning and evening. I give her a fruit with the cereal in the morning, about an hour after nursing, and then a veggie and cereal before bath time. So far, she's eaten pureed: apples, pears, prunes, carrots, squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, peaches. She's liked everything but peaches. I have to mix it with another fruit, too.
Allie's Likes:
- Bath Time. She loves kicking and talking in the bath.
- Mommy. She likes to see me often and looks around to find me in a room. (swoon)
- Landon. She loves him. She finds him funny and so interesting.
- When Daddy talks to her. She smiles so big. Their relationship has really started developing.
- Her exersaucer
- Her hands/fingers. She chews and sucks on her hands and fingers a lot.
- Electronics: my Apple Watch, the remote, the monitor.
Allie's Dislikes:
- Tummy time. She isn't a huge fan.
- Laying under her play mat.
- Getting her face wiped clean.
- When she wants to be held and you leave her alone.
Favorites at this stage of parenting: I always love when babies hit 6 months and start sitting up. It's the cutest thing ever. I also really love the loud babble and squeals and grunts and noises. It's so fun watching her start to "communicate". It's also been so sweet watching her start to love on her Daddy.
Challenges at this stage of parenting: The moments when she wants/needs to be held and I have a million other things to do.
Doctor appointments this month: 6 month apt. She got her shots, including part 1 of her flu shot. She weighed 15.91 pounds and was 27 inches long.
Diaper and clothes sizes:
Diapers - Size 2
Clothes - 6-9 months
How Momma feels:
I'm now officially back to my normal foods. No more diary free, etc. Yay!!! Hello pizza. Hello ice cream. Hello cheese and spices!!! We've done better this month at balancing life: marriage, parenting, personal time, etc. That's been helpful. Landon's been pretty challenging (hello threenager) so that's been tough. Physically I feel great too. I still get sore around my scar doing certain exercises and I am still healing up my distasis recti, but it's improving slowly. I'm working out 4-5 days a week!
Tidbits:
- She sat in the stroller like a big girl for the first time. We also started using the double running stroller too.
- Her spit up has decreased some.
