How big is baby? The size of a plum - half an ounce.
How is baby developing this week? Baby's eyes have moved from the side of its head to the front and its ears are where they should be now, too. Plus, its kidneys are starting to excrete urine into its bladder. Reflexes are developing and baby can make a sucking movement with mouth.
How I'm changing: Still feeling nauseous all day and SLEEEEEEEPY. I'm napping as soon as Landon goes down for his nap each day. Usually that's only an hour, but hey....it helps me get through the rest of the day!
What I'm eating: Breakfasts are oats with honey, blueberries, flaked coconut and a banana. Plus a slice (or two) of cinnamon raisin bread w/butter. Lunch has been heated up Boar's Head chicken deli meat on 1 piece of Ezekiel bread with swiss cheese, spicy mustard and bread and butter pickles. (YUM!) Plus a side salad with kale, cut up mandarin oranges, sliced almonds and olive oil drizzled for dressing. Snacks are fruit, Cliff bars, hard boiled eggs w/salt and pepper, and mugs of cereal (especially at night after dinner). Dinner is still pretty normal. I can't do BBQ. I'm craving fried chicken and bacon. :)
What I'm NOT eating: BBQ
How I'm feeling: SLEEPY and nauseous all day. Overwhelmed and exhausted a lot as well just given our stage of life with Landon. Thankful for my two days when Landon is at MDO. I'm usually just at home, resting. My sea bands help a TON. I notice a HUGE difference when I don't have them on. I wear them 24/7 except when I'm showering, working out, or sleeping at night.
How my workouts are: This week, I got in 3 workouts - which is what I shot for with Landon's pregnancy and what I'll shoot for this pregnancy too. I got in a 20 min walk on the treadmill followed by a 10 minute pregnancy friendly WOD, Body Pump class one day, and a 1.5 mile walk through a wooded trail at a park with the family.
Thoughts this week: I love hearing "Congrats!" from people. It's pretty obvious I'm pregnant now so it's fun to have people excited. I'm having a really tough time (and subsequent Mommy guilt over) feeling as sentimental and connected as I did with Landon. But, I know that's normal as life is WAY busier with Landon's 2.5 year old self keeping me busy each day. I'm ready to feel the baby move because I know that will help big time!
Highlights this week: Making it to the end of the 1st trimester and beginning of the 2nd!! Please Lord let this mean a relief in nausea and more energy!!
Bump details: I'm amazed at how big it is already. I've been told I'll slow down towards the end and let's hope so! Ha! I'm already showing as much as I did near the half way mark with Landon!!
