I've shared it on my Instagram (@shape_her), but the last month, I've been reading Gloria Furman's book "Treasuring God When Your Hands Are Full: Gospel Meditations for Busy Moms" during my Jesus time in the mornings. I LOVE it. It has spoken directly to my season of life with two kids 3 and under. I love Gloria's sense of humor and writing style too.
When Lifeway's Women's Ministry announced they were offering Gloria's book "Missional Motherhood" as a free online Bible study this fall, I immediately looked into it. (http://blog.lifeway.com/womenallaccess/2016/08/23/announcing-fall-online-bible-study-sign/)
As I was reading over the information, God started speaking to my heart and I started praying about leading a group of Moms through this study. Then, he led me one step further - doing it in an online group, via my Shape Her community. How awesome!
So I'm PUMPED to tell you that enrollment is open NOW to join me in this 6 week online study starting September 29.
Here's the details:
- Lifeway Women will be posting weekly videos on their blog that we'll watch individually
- We will complete the daily study "homework" during our individual Jesus time during the week
- We will participate in an online Facebook group (free and open to all women) facilitated by me, where I'll post take-a-ways, conversation pieces, and discussions about the weekly homework and videos.
I love this description on the site about the study: "Sooner or later, every mother will stop and ask herself, Is this all I am? God has instilled motherhood with meaning and purpose as part of His greater plan for humanity. Whether or not a woman has been called to traditional motherhood, she demonstrates her nurturing gifts daily through caregiving, hospitality, discipleship, teaching, raising children, and serving others."
I want to point out, too, that this has zero to do with fitness. Like, ZERO. It's simply a group to dig into God's Word together, encourage each other, and walk through this study together for 6 weeks. It's just like any Bible study you've done in the past, except your group will be online instead of in person. So if you're NOT into Fitness or not interested in that currently, no problem! Let's just focus on Jesus' Word together! Pretty neat huh?! :)
