We were on vacation this week, so I was out of my regular routine and routes. It was challenging, but I got it done!! I didn't get as far as I'd hoped on run 1 (it was HOT in FL), and I ran the treadmill for run 2. It took me a bit to figure out what speed to run to stay on pace. I wanted to get 5 miles in, so I had to go a little past the planned 50 min. Then, I did cross training (30 min HIIT workout in the garage) instead of run 3 because we were traveling. I'm SUPER proud of myself for sticking to it and still kicking butt this week, all while on vacation!!
My STATS for this week's training:
(All runs on a 9 min run/2 min walk interval)
45:13 minutes / 4.17 miles / 10:50 AP
54:20 minutes / 5.01 miles / 10:50 AP
Cross Training: 30 Minute HIIT Garage workout
Long Run: 10 Miles / 1:48:47 / 10:52 AP
What was hard this week?
Just being out of routine. It was hot in FL and there wasn't a good place to run outside, so it was tough. I hate the treadmill, but I sucked it up and made the most out of my 5 miles on it! My Apple Watch was about .13 off, so I went with the treadmill timing. My biggest challenge yet was my 10 miles. I ran it solo, which I hadn't done yet on long runs. I knew it might happen and that it needed to in order to prep me for race day, but whew! It's way different Running that far alone. I much prefer the distraction of talking to somebody. But, I did it and now know I can do it again!! I felt like a beast after accomplishing those 10 miles!!
What was easy this week?
Hmm....this week was pretty challenging with vacation and different location, etc. I can't think of what was easy. Well, I will say, on my 10 miles, the first 4 miles seemed pretty "easy".
Any aches or pains?
My arches are feeling much better. 🙌🏼 My hamstrings were really tight and sore after my HIIT workout.
Funny Misc:
After my 10 miles, my face had tiny pieces of salt on it. I sweat so much, for so long, I was salty!!! Crazy!! #legitrunner 😜 Also, during my 5 miles on the treadmill, I was singing to my music and could tell the gym peeps were looking at me. Guess what? I didn't care! I'd never see them again and I needed entertainment to make 5 miles on the treadmill interesting! 😆
I'm so happy the big 10 mile mark is behind me!!! 🎉🙌🏼
