Tips for Staying Healthy on Vacation
EAT A LIGHT LUNCH
It's easy to overeat on vacation. You're not able to be around your usual food choices and you end up having to eat out most of your meals. If possible, and you have the ability, utilize your room's refrigerator and go to a local grocery store to grab things for a light lunch each day. If you do have to eat out every meal, make sure you choose a lighter option at lunch. Salads with grilled chicken, shrimp or grilled fish, are a great option. You're still getting adequate nutrition and protein, but you're not consuming an insane amount of calories.
WORKOUT 2-3 DAYS, 20-30 MINUTES EACH
Listen, I get it. Vacation is a time to get away, take a break from you regular routine, and rest. But if you can still get in a workout 2-3 days, for 20-30 minuets each, it'll help you stay on track while you're gone. When I'm on vacation, I like to rest and take a break, but I also like to get in 2-3 days of workouts where I'm going at it HARD for at least 20 minutes to burn some calories. You'll feel much better and you'll stay on track a lot easier. Plus, you'll have less guilt when you get back home!
