It's easy to park our minds in bad spots. In "Made to Crave" Lysa Terkeurst says "to think on hard things keeps us in hard spots and only serves to deepen our feelings of emotional emptiness". Pity parties do no good. They simply leave a deeper emptiness than we had to begin with.
Do you have something from your past - or present - that causes you emotional emptiness or guilt?
Turn it into a prayer this morning. Walk through Philippians 4:8 and shine the light of each statement onto your problem.
Take that feeling and compare it against the truth of the verse. I started with the first one below.
Whatever is true - My body might have gained weight, but I am not my weight. I'm a daughter of the King and I choose today to live as one. He calls me beautiful!
Whatever your pity party is, or your guilt and emptiness, take it before the Lord and shine His truth on it!
